JOB SUMMARY
SOS Hose Services manufacture world class products providing an essential service to their supply chain. They are hydraulic engineers who offer diagnosis and repair of their customer’s hydraulics, minimising machine down time for their customers.

A rare opportunity has arisen to train up 3x Machine Operators. The ideal candidate would have CPCS. In this role you will learn how to operate machinery, fabricate, manufacture, and assemble. Candidates will be trained to gain a full understanding of how hydraulics machines work.

SKILLS NEEDED
Experience preferred but not essential as all training will be provided on the job, willingness to work hard and become a valued member of the team.

The Kickstart Scheme job placements should help them get basic work skills. This includes:
attendance
timekeeping
For attendance and time keeping the start and finish reporting times and days of work will be documented and discussed with the Kickstart worker on commencement of the placement. We will follow up attendance and time keeping of the Kickstart worker by issuing a turnaround document to the employing organisation to advise if there have been unacceptable deviations. The Kickstart worker will then be contacted to discuss the issue and agree a corrective action. Finally, the outcome will be communicated back to the employing organisation.

For communication and teamwork, the employing organisation will be asked to state what are the essential forms of communication required for the role, and the contributions to team working, it will then be asked how these will be achieved and reviewed with the Kickstart worker.
travelling to work
We will establish with the Kickstart worker the various options that are available for traveling to and from work including factors such as arriving punctually at start times and returning home safety. We will help with identification of public transport options and any opportunities for co-worker transportation sharing.
Kickstart participants may also need help with:
CV and interviews
looking for long term work
If the Kickstart worker on review indicates that they are unlikely to be retained by the employing organisation, they will be invited to discuss development of their CV and how to prepare for interviews. They will also be shown where to look for appropriate long term work.
