Essential Functions
The job of a F&B Assistant is very important to the smooth running of the Kitchen and Back of House operation. A F&B Assistant is the person who takes care of all cleaning and storage requires, maintains a clean, sanitary kitchen and ensure all orders and are put away and distributed correctly. A F&B Assistant should be smart, enthusiastic and polite at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
•Co-ordinate incoming deliveries and store correctly (follow FIFO) Compilation of health and safety online training
•Read, understand and follow all F&B basic standards documents/SOP’s
•Build strong inter-discipline relationships between front of house and back of house Ensure the cleanliness of the BOH areas are maintained
•Report all breakages and damaged equipment to your supervisor or head chef Report all pest sights to your supervisor or head chef
•Ensure that all cutlery and crockery is cleaned and return to the outlets Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork Keeps cook line/ hot pass well stocked with crockery and plates
•Assists in the breakdown and clean of banquet functions when finished
•Maintains a clean kitchen environment by following task cards and cleaning manuals Follows check list to ensure that the correct jobs are being carried out periodically Assists kitchen personnel with set-up and breakdown of staff restaurant
•Performs other duties required within reason
•Follow and maintain food health and hygiene standards
•Follow and maintain COSHH standards set by company’s appointed chemical supplier
•Demonstrates ability to proactively prioritise needs, put first things first, and effectively manages time. Participates in the day-to-day running of all operational aspects of the F&B department
•To maintain food health and hygiene standards
•To perform other duties as required in the F&B Team

Has a good command of English

Has good Communication skills
Displays a working knowledge of the Hotel in order to assist internal & external clients.
Friendly and confident personality
To be up to date with current health and safety procedures in food and beverage

The Prince’s Trust will deliver interview skills webinars before they attend their first interview with us. This will cover the basics and the STAR question response technique.
The young person will also be able to listen to and engage with aspirational talks by young people who have overcome barriers to employment, as well as the following workshops to help the young person improve their job prospects:
Week 3: Making the Most of Your Placement-Covering confidence and wellbeing, building your network, SWOT analysis (Strengths, Opportunities, Weaknesses and Threats)
Month 1-2: First 90 Days of Work-covering understanding your personality, understanding others, understanding your goals, money management.
Month 3-4: ‘Getting Ahead+Planning for the Future’-covering digital self, social media for work, CV writing & Applying for jobs
Month 5-6: ‘Reflection and Next Steps’-covering interview skills, reflecting on their Career Action Plan, Mock interview practice
Month 6: Celebration Event and Offboarding-where young people will be sign-posted and supported to other programmes or job opportunities if they are unable to secure a role at Edwardian Hotels.
In addition to the structured learning plan that they will have with their induction and with our training provider, Kickstarters will also have full access to online learning resources. where they can access free online learning modules on a variety of subjects, relevant for both work and personal development.
We are viewing the programme as a 6 month introduction to the company and we very much hope to create a talent pipeline where the young person will enjoy working with the company and want to progress their career with us.
