The Supplying Direct Group are seeking a motivated individual to join our small, dedicated team.
The company operates from a converted barn in the tranquil settings of Old Hall Barns Business Park, Pakenham (IP31 2NG). With plenty of on-site parking and our rural location, you will experience a stress-free commute, within easy reach of Bury St Edmunds and surrounding areas. (Working hours, Monday-Friday 9.30am-3.00pm)

Perfectly suiting a professional candidate with confidence to maximise, lever and negotiate sales and buying opportunities within a medium sized business with a turnover of approximately £1.5m.
Reporting directly to the Manging Director and Office Manager, the successful candidate will be trained to identify and negotiate opportunities to enhance margins and convert sales.
Successfully trading since 2003, the company has a proven track record of supporting employees through business apprenticeships with several progressing to have full time roles and further their careers within and outside the business.

In a small business you will be exposed to a wide range of training opportunities, broken down into an initial induction program, followed by a training program structured into modules in a similar way to apprenticeships we have undertaken in the past. Examples of some of the key duties as follows:
Maximise margin and sales conversions on incoming quotes and enquiries.
Demonstrate an excellent phone manner and written communication skills.
Manage own workload and be flexible in assisting others in a small team environment.
Identify and negotiate the best supplier cost prices and delivery times.
Processing of quotes and sales through in house back office system.

SKILLS NEEDED
Graduate level qualifications or equivalent would be an advantage
Very confident to speak to people by phone.
Motivated to be successful in sales opportunities.
Excellent communication, numeracy and PC skills.
Will require own transport as limited public transport.

WORKING HOURS
Monday-Friday 9.30am-3.00pm start and end time potentially flexible to accommodate hours

HOURLY RATE
national minimum wage

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
Office manager and MD will deliver the training and be a constant source of mentoring throughout the 6 months. There is an induction period of 2 weeks that covers all aspects of the business. There are 20 modules to complete and at the end there is a review to look at strengths and weaknesses and any areas that need additional support. There are daily check ins with the team and there will be 1-2-1 reviews every two weeks. There will also be assistance with CV writing and interview skills and preparation.

This newly created role has the potential to lead to a permanent position with additional hours.

Reference from the Managing Director will be offered at the end of the six-month program to confirm course completion
