JOB SUMMARY
This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable experience whilst working in a school environment. Bredbury Green Primary School is a larger than average primary school in Stockport. The school currently has 269 pupils on roll aged between 2 and 11. We see ourselves very much as a family school, where education is a partnership between our staff, parents /carers and pupils, and where we work together for the good of all our children. We aim to create a warm, friendly atmosphere in which children can grow and develop both academically and personally. We take pride in our achievements and have high expectations for each child in every aspect of their work – captured by our underlying school mission statement: ‘To inspire and empower children in a supportive and inclusive environment creating self-belief, independence and respect.’
The PE and Coaching Assistant will plan and deliver sport sessions to pupils, both in school time and as part of after-school clubs. They will also contribute to the development of the extra-curriculum activities promoted by the institution.

They will support permanent staff to plan and deliver engaging sport and fitness sessions and will assist teachers with general classroom duties. They will advise pupils on how to stay fit and healthy. They will also provide administrative support as needed, reducing the pressure on teaching staff and teaching assistants.

SKILLS NEEDED
Applicants will have good interpersonal skills, will be passionate about sport and fitness and will be able to engage with and inspire pupils and staff. They will be committed to enhancing pupils’ wellbeing. They will have an interest in a career in education, sport/fitness or wellbeing. The ideal applicants will be acquainted with a variety of sports/fitness activities. They will have previous experience in coaching and
first aid training (this is desirable but not essential).

WORKING HOURS
10.30 am - 4.30 pm (1 hour unpaid lunch break 1.00pm - 2.00pm). Monday to Friday, term time only

As part of this position, you will have access to an employability training offer which will provide a robust and high-quality programme boosting your work and employability skills. This will be provided by Premier Advisory Group (PAG).

PAG’s offer is designed in three complementary modules, which will empower you with the appropriate skills to enter the job market with more confidence. Our employability training offer consists of three core modules: Readiness to Work, Introducing Employability Skills and Developing Employability Skills.

The first two modules, which include sessions on CV writing, interview and job search support and an ICT refresher course, will equip you with the basis for improved employability across any role in any sector. The third module, designed using a credit system, will enable you to select the package of training that best suits your personal needs, interests and ambitions. You will be able to choose from a wide range of resources and means of learning, such as, for example, seminars on public speaking, professional writing, critical thinking or negotiation, and innovative professional tools, such as Diversity Icebreaker and Working Genius.
