The candidate will be initially trained in the installation of voice and data cabling including but not limited to, cat5e cat6, cat6a and fibre optic. Once the candidate has a knowledge of the infrastructure, they will be trained on the following, UC telephony, Voice and data network provisioning, Network fault finding, SIP trunking provisioning and testing, Mobile integration, Collaboration integration.
The opportunity is open to a punctual, polite and reliable person to work with a small team of engineers. The applicant doesn’t need prior knowledge of UC, IP or cabling as full training will be given however it would be an advantage to have some basic IT knowledge. The applicant must have a clean full driving license. The candidate must also be flexible for working away from home

Experience of cabling not necessarily needed but an understanding of IT would be an advantage. The applicant must have a clean full driving license. The applicant must also be flexible for working away from home.

9.00-5.00 Monday to Friday plus overtime


The young person will receive employability support to become more employable. This will be delivered by Gateshead Council and includes but not exhaustive:
Help looking for long-term work, including career advice and setting goals
Support with CV writing
Support with interview preparation
Developing their skills in the workplace

The young person will receive one to one training in the workplace. They will be involved in shadowing an experienced member of the team who will train and guide them.

The young person will receive training which will give them the skills to be a cabling engineer.
