Live 2 eat are looking for two members of staff to support The Wheatsheaf pub in Ludlow.
We are looking to increase our team with two people: 1 to work back of house - kitchen and 1 front of house, working behind the bar and eating areas.
You will be working as part of a small team responsible for supplying product to a high quality and in a timely manner.
You will be provided with all health and safety equipment and have access to all tools necessary to complete the role. We are Covid-secure, social distancing is in place and hand sanitiser is readily available.
During your time with us you will have a mentor assigned to you.
You will work together developing your skills so that you can assist the team in creating and providing food without supervision, or liaising with customers and working the front.
Initially you will be working under direct supervision but, given time, you will be asked to work on jobs in the kitchen, restaurant and bar.
Whilst this is not an office role you will need some basic maths and English.
We have a clean facility and your role will include keeping it that way. You are being trained to work in the customer focussed catering industry. Most important for both roles is a practical hands on interest in all aspects of food and food preparation with a can-do attitude. It is essential that you are interested in working with your hands.
You must be physically fit, able to work effectively to instructions, have an eye for detail, be able to complete basic paperwork and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Mon - Wednesday between the hours of 1100- 2300 depending on role
ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
It has been agreed that support will be supplied by both NMITE and our organisation.
NMITE will provide training, adapted for each trainee, depending on age and experience covering:
Job searching techniques
Potential future career option
Interview preparation including appearance, mock interviews, etc.
Capturing and documenting tasks and achievements to make them part of a CV
Other requirements as appropriate
We will provide the following:
Job specific training on kitchen equipment, food hygiene preparation and cooking, or bar and restaurant work depending on your preferences and suitability.
Mentor to supervise and support the young person with all aspects of their day-to-day role.
Induction programme covering roles, responsibilities and expectations
Regular and robust progress reviews to identify areas for improvement, concerns and issues. An agreed action plan will be put in place. Coaching and mentoring to support Well-being
In addition; NMITE will training mentors in leadership skills to giving them the necessary tools to support the new employees under this scheme.
We will discuss progress with NMITE. NMITE will be the point of escalation for the Kickstart employee for any concerns during the programme
