Urban Foresight is a fast-growing strategy and innovation consultancy. We work with ambitious clients around the world on projects that improve lives, protect the environment and boost local economies.

We are looking for another talented person to provide valuable support to our current graphic designer and newly appointed other assistant graphic designer. Our graphic design team works across the business supporting our team of consultants to deliver professional reports, presentations and communication materials.

Activities will include:
formatting reports, proposals and presentations;
preparing promotional materials, banners, brochures, leaflets etc
refining images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software;
video editing and After Effects/ motion graphics;
maintaining brand consistency throughout all projects;
generating new ideas.

You will be working remotely until coronavirus working restrictions are lifted, after which we hope to return to working in our office in central Newcastle along with our other newly appointed assistant graphic designer. Our current head graphic designer works from our office in Dundee, so you will require to be in regular contact through telephone/video calls/emails etc

The ideal candidate would have:
qualifications in Graphic Design or an equivalent discipline;
work experience in a graphic design role;
good working knowledge of the Adobe Cloud suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop);
strong time and task management skills;
good communication and teamworking skills;
and a passion for the work that we do.

Hours will be 37.5 hours per week during office hours (9:00 am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday). This will initially be a 6 month contract.


North East LEP, our Gateway organisation, will provide a full wrap around support bespoke to the needs of the successful candidate.
This will comprise of:
Initial triage with a full qualified careers advisor
Essential skills assessment to gain a baseline understanding of areas that will inform ongoing support
Monthly meetings with allocated careers advisor
Depending on skill level, mandatory and optional monthly workshops covering the following:
CV writing
Covering letters
Job search
Professional use of social media
Interview preparation
Mock Interviews
Vocational training / short courses in discussion with employers and young people to determine suitability
Essential skills re-assessment and review and support planning for beyond placement
Additional specialist support and interventions will be implemented based on engagement and need of the young person and employer.
