The Role:

We have long term placement opportunities available Band 6 Physiotherapist - Wards and Community atBerkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust , specifically providing the following:

  • Working as part of the Rehabilitation Team with responsibility for own caseload, without direct supervision, supported by the Therapy Lead.
  • To work in both the ward setting, community health clinic and the community in a flexible way to meet the needs of the service.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Responsible for the advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients, provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
  • To supervise junior staff.

Main Responsibilities :


  • To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care.
  • To undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations / multi pathologies; use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition.
  • Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills

To apply for this post you need to have :

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Evidence of CPD including recent relevant course.
  • Significant experience as a junior in a broad rotational post including specialist areas such as orthopaedics, medical, care of the elderly, neurological and musculoskeletal, including experience of working in the NHS.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites.
