Working within the day services and supported living centre for adults in a supportive and positive environment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in starting a career within care.
These placements will be supporting existing care workers in several different settings. Working with adults with learning disabilities in a day care or independent living setting. Working especially with socially isolated adults and with the aim of building new professional relationships and helping the residents find new interests and outlets.
1. General duties include:
The successful candidate will begin the placement with the same core training given to permanent members of the team.
This will include:
Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
Mental Capacity Act
Moving and Handling
All H&S related training
There is also an opportunity to undertake the Care Certificate, which can be used as a qualification in care when applying for jobs.

Subject to line manager approval, there is flexibility around working days and times to complete 25 hours of work.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
For the first three months of placement, the candidate will go through all of the mandatory Council training and will also have a buddy within the team and a mentor from our Training Services.
Each Kickstarter will have an individual training programme which will be designed between them, their Manager and Coach based on their personal needs and the requirements for the specific role they are undertaking. Kickstart participants will have access to a wide range of employability support including training and mentoring in attendance and time keeping, team work, communication, adaptability and professionalism, resilience and mental wellbeing and self-management. Independent careers support is weaved into the programme, including application writing and job interview skills, to ensure that each Kickstarter has the best possible opportunity for securing long-term sustained employment.
