JOB SUMMARY
We have an opportunity for a Retail Customer Service Assistant to join our ESS Team. ESS has been the market leader in defence and Government catering and food services for over 40 years. We support the welfare of thousands of military, police and Government personnel who carry out important work, often in challenging conditions. Key Accountabilities: To ensure that all displays, counters and kitchen areas (where applicable), comply with company and statutory health & hygiene requirements. Ensure all HSE incidents/near misses are reported using the appropriate reporting procedures at the earliest opportunity. Complete all Food Safety and Health and Safety paperwork correctly, when required. To take responsibility of all monies within the mess whilst on shift, ensuring all Profit Protection. To ensure highest level of customer service and care is always adhered to, by role modelling the ESS Way values and behaviours at all times to customers and colleagues. To actively upsell and demonstrate excellent knowledge of all products. Serving Customers and taking orders. Please note, this opportunity is based at a high security site and the successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks as detailed during the recruitment process: DBS Check, Vetting Check, Security Checks.

SKILLS NEEDED
An enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and customer service skills. Able to multi-task and work unsupervised, and as part of a team. Competent in the English Language, both written and verbal. Self-Motivated. Be capable of following basic recipes. Candidates must be 18+

WORKING HOURS
5 out of 7 days, will include some weekends and evenings

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
The candidate will have a workplace mentor who will support them throughout their 6-month placement. Training opportunities: Full training given on all aspects of role. 121 mentor support. Regular progress reviews. Front of House Training. Customer Service Training. Opportunities to learn new skills and multi skill in other services. E-learning training. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to complete additional training or a nationally recognised accredited qualification during the 6-month Kickstart Placement to support their skills development.
