South Tyneside Council

This post is based with the Finance and Internal Audit Teams at South Tyneside Council and involves assisting the Finance Administration Team to prepare journals and invoices, analysing data to ensure that income and expenditure is correctly accounted for, providing statistical and financial information to support decision making and reconcile financial systems to ensure that financial records are accurate.

The post holder will be required to assist the Internal Audit Team to prepare working papers and assist in audit work.

The post holder will provide general administrative support that will include preparing handouts and documents, answer the telephone and deal with queries and respond to requests from colleagues through the shared inbox in a timely manner.

Full training and support in processes and systems will be provided as part of this placement and the postholder will develop business administration skills, analytical skills and business communication and presentation skills.

5 GCSEs grade A-C, including maths and English. Experience of using IT packages e.g. Microsoft Office. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good organisation skills. Strong analytical skills. Able to work under pressure and to strict timescales. Able to work as part of a team. The post holder will be required to complete a baseline security check prior to an offer of employment being made.

Monday to Friday between 9.00 and 17.00
