Adecco Working Ventures (GW+)

This is a 6-month Kickstart Placement, supplied by Adecco Working Ventures on behalf of DESTAL Ltd, trading as Frodsham Gates and Fencing.
Frodsham Gates and Fencing are a well-established limited company who manufacture bespoke boundary solutions for home and provide export case and packing services to industry. They produce wooden gates, fences, cases, and pallets in a variety of woods and finishes and ship to customers throughout the UK.
The successful applicant will be trained to manufacture timber products to a very high standard and within time constraints. This will include the use of chop saws, planers, circular saws and nail guns. The main role is to assist other members of staff in the manufacture dispatch and fitting of company products.
A typical day will include setting up, prepping for the day and assisting manufacturing staff.
Manufacturing timber products, wrapping and preparing them for dispatch.
In-House Training
Cleaning the factory throughout the day to ensure a safe working environment for all.
You will be required to undertake all company duties and responsibilities determined by the Company which are deemed reasonable in the capacity of a Wood Worker. This will include:
Assist the other wood workers to manufacture, wrap and dispatch customer orders.
Manufacture gates and fencing and pallets and crates to a high standard.
Undertake training to enable you to manufacture to a high level.
Clean and tidy the factory daily.
Always observe health and safety regulations.
Be very trustworthy and have integrity.
Good working attitude and be flexible to the business needs.
Be a team player.
Be punctual and reliable.
Working with your hands and developing wood working skills.
Developing team working and communication skills.
With in-house training develop the successful applicant to learn skills to enable them to set goals and gain experience to progress in a career in woodworking.

Occasional visits to customer’s premises may be required, this will be limited to a 25-mile radius of CH1 4NP

Applicants must be over 18 to apply for this opportunity and own transport would be an advantage but not essential.
Good eye for detail experience in the use of electric hand saws nail guns an advantage. Good communicator. Be able to think and act ahead and lift up to 20kgs.
Experience of working with wood and have factory floor/shop floor experience.
NVQ qualification in joinery an advantage but not essential.
Fitting of fences and gates.

4 shifts over 4 days Monday to Friday. Hours to be discussed further at interview.


In addition to the placement experience which will provide training to increase skills confidence and understanding of workplace expectations AWV is committed to supporting each young persons employability skills alongside their placement. We provide personal ad hoc as well as monthly mentoring sessions to ensure that the placement opportunity goes successfully. For a minimum of one hour per month our employability training both on a remote one to one basis and remote group workshops will cover CV improvement updating interview skills application writing job search techniques and any mentoring required as well as ensuring an employer reference is received all to increase the participants long term employment prospects. Our employment training and mentoring is remote and therefore resilient to Covid lockdowns these will not hamper our progression.
