JOB SUMMARY
To support the provision of a safe, cost effective, quality service within the local area. This will involve working alongside the Registered Manager in the service delivery to individuals who have learning disabilities, autism, profound complex needs and/or behaviour that may challenge in a way which enables them to maximise their independence, maintain family relationships and access community opportunities. To represent the organisation in a positive way through the interaction with external partners, including purchasers, service users, carers, families and communities and to contribute to the organisational objectives

Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Adaptability to changing environments and different needs of the people we support
Flexibility to work with numerous individuals with varying needs from general support to complex.
Some positions will work as part of team and others will require colleagues to work on own initiative. Colleagues will be match with appropriate individuals to support our colleagues and those people we support.
Excellent time keeping and attendance to provide consistency to the People we Support.

Maintain confidentiality at all times

Ability to remain calm within challenging environments

Induction and Training
Two week induction including e-learning and webinars on various courses and topics; autism awareness, dignity and respect, health and safety, dignity in care, person centred care, learning disabilities, safeguarding and protection of adults, record keeping, basic life support.

SKILLS NEEDED
Qualifications
Minimum of NVQ Level /Diploma level 3 in either Care or Health and Social Care.

Experience
Experiencing of working with adults with complex needs or working within a care setting
Previous management experience and ability to coach and develop colleagues.
Experience of reviewing and writing care plans along with rota management

Skills

There are two locations for this role the other is 73-75 High Street, Clacton on Sea, CO15 6PW

WORKING HOURS
Varies depending on the particular service and individual requirements. Rotational shift patters of 3 days on/4 days off rotating per week to include days and nights including weekend working.

HOURLY RATE
National Min wage

Induction and Training

Monthly supervisions are held with colleagues to check on progress.

Role of Kickstart Essex Gateway
A Welcome pack and full induction will be provided to employees with objectives set through an action plan to be reviewed regularly in order to track training and support.
This will also ensure each allocated Kickstart Project Officer understands the placement and support employees will be receiving in each case. And what monitoring arrangements will be put in place to verify that each Kickstart employee is receiving a high- quality employment experience and additional support throughout their time on the scheme.
Full support will be given to provide progression, if candidate isn’t taken on full time at the end of the scheme, through our specialist IAG team or a third-party training provider.
Kickstart Essex will also provide support for, or signpost to, well-being support, employability skills, careers advice and guidance, CV preparation, interview preparation: mock interviews, dressing for interviews, examples of which are included in our Welcome Pack.
