JOB SUMMARY
This position for Wragby Youth Centre Trust/Lincolnshire Boys and Girls Club is based in Gainsborough. The Job involves acting as support to the successful operation of youth clubs and community projects which can include-

Assistance with the daily operations of the office and centre which include assistance at reception. taking enquiries, use of computer booking skills, and ensuring health and safety guidelines are adhered to.

Involvement in organisation of recreational activities for young people, including games: youth socials, arts and craft events and music events.

Coffee Bar and Refreshment duties when required.

Completing necessary paperwork such as registration forms, progress reports, health and safety and activity details.

Liaising with other organisations (with help and support)

Essentially through this placement the young person will develop customer focused and liaison skills together with group work and activity management. There will be an amount of Administrative Skills learned sufficient for most small businesses.
In addition, the person in this role with engagement on the Introduction to Youth Work Training and Further Level 3 Youth Work Course within the job role can gain regionally welcomed and nationally recognised qualification in Youth and Community Work covering essential educational and group work skills combined with organisational experience and an opportunity to assess if this is the career for them.

There is an opportunity within these roles for young people to build on their strengths in an environment where they will meet new challenges and be able to gain new strengths and skills and determine whether different aspects of youth and community work are appropriate for them. There will be regular supervision of a non-managerial type which aims to help them grow skills and judgement.
Some physical work of a light nature may be required.

SKILLS NEEDED
Good practical education, roughly 3 GCSE's or equivalent.
Willingness to engage in additional training.
Some attention to detail
Communication skills written and spoken
A DBS Check will be required unless a continuing one is held, and the organisation supports rehabilitation and guarantees applicants will not be prejudiced or held back for non-relevant offences.
Some previous work experience in any field would be a useful precursor.

Daytime and Evening Work spread over agreed days

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
Time will be given to help young people develop their CV's and prepare for interviews. Placements will have the opportunity to achieve a range of nationally recognised qualifications such as activity leadership, first aid, youth work, safeguarding and more.
