JOB SUMMARY
Responsibilities of the Trainee Supervisor will include:
Learning about Deichmann and what it takes to be successful in the shoe retailing sector. Proactively developing their potential, enthusiastically undertaking all training and development provided, to learn and perfect the skills and attributes they will need to:

Supervise the store team in the absence of the Store Manager
Open & close the store (locking up, setting alarm)
Open the tills, cash up, complete store banking & associated admin tasks
Offer excellent levels of customer service, having gained a full understanding of the product range
Promote and recommend complimentary shoe care products
Process stock deliveries and store transfers
Ensure that the store is correctly merchandised, product displays are full in order to maximise sales
Champion and support the achievement of monthly KPI targets
Assist with coaching and training of new store colleagues
Deal with customer queries and complaints in store in the absence of the manager
Ensure all company standards, processes and procedures are adhered to

Summary:
The role focusses on harnessing the raw potential of the participants, by providing the training and development opportunity to fast track them into gaining the skills and experience needed to become a Supervisor.
During their 6 month appointment participants become proficient in the key skills of stock & delivery, customer service (including till operation), merchandising & replenishment of product, store opening and closing and cashing up and team leading.

SKILLS NEEDED
Positive, can do attitude and a strong passion for working within retail.
Developable aptitude for a leadership role.
Great communication skills.
Basic Numeracy/Literacy skills.
The confidence to approach and serve all customers.
Be well motivated to complete all required tasks.
High attention to detail.
The ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
Organised and able to prioritise.

WORKING HOURS
Kickstart hrs depend on the store. Trading patterns vary, some close at 6pm with others trading evening, therefore colleagues need to be fully flexible Mon to Sun

HOURLY RATE
To be discussed dependant on age

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
The participants will have the benefit of multiple channels of support.

They will be inducted, trained and mentored day to day by the Store Manager. This will include a formal induction program, on the job training, coaching with regular discussion and feedback around progress and performance.

We have a comprehensive e-learning platform with easy to follow modules on all aspects of life in store and which the young person will be asked to complete. These include:
Customer service.
Active Customer Service
Health & Safety
Store Security
Effective communication
KPI
GDPR
Much of the content of these modules whilst written from a Deichmann perspective contain knowledge/skills which are transferable into another workplace other than a fashion retail setting.

In addition, our field based, Regional trainers will oversee the participants development, review and document their progress on placement.

Participants will also be provided support in developing their employability skills, such as basic work skills ie timekeeping, attendance, teamwork and help with interview skills and CV writing where required.
