We have an opportunity for a Trainee Accountant to join our ESS Team. ESS has been the market leader in defence and Government catering and food services for over 40 years. We support the welfare of thousands of military, police and Government personnel who carry out important work, often in challenging conditions.

Key Accountabilities:

Promote a safety culture and operate in accordance with company and client Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Issuing/charging Bills & invoices
To support with administration duties in the absence of the administrator
Control the safe custody of all company and personnel documents in line with company procedures and data protection policy.
Answer telephones and direct messages to the appropriate individual/manager in a timely manner.
Support with note taking for investigations, disciplinary and grievance meetings.
Take minutes at various business meetings and distribute to all attendees in a timely manner.
Prepare presentations and monthly service delivery reports on a monthly basis.
Book and escort all external visitors using correct security procedures as and when required.
Report any office equipment faults following the correct policy and procedure.
Work from other units within the contract as and when required.
Provide support for meetings and conferences by booking hotels and transport as and when required.

Be flexible and assist with other reasonable duties as and when required

Please note the successful candidate will be required to obtain a DBS check (paid for by Compass) and will need to go through security checks.

Candidates must be 18years or over.

GCSE’s or equivalent in Maths and English
Previous administration experience working in a busy environment
Excellent personal and organisational skills
Excellent time management and prioritising skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Office including: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
