This is an exciting opportunity to work as a maintenance operative Trainee and to learn what it takes to and work alongside employees of the maintenance team to gain an all-round experience within the industry.
Subject to circumstances and availability, the candidate will achieve various national certificate of competences where these are known to be advantageous when securing employment in this field e.g. pesticide application, brush-cutting etc.
You will lean various grounds maintenance skills and learn to use machinery for – strimming, mowing, hedge cutting, control of weeds, litter picking and clearing.
Learn the importance of Health & Safety in the work place.
Learn how to Plant and care of plants.
Learn Buildings maintenance skills such as how to – roof repairs, repair guttering and ground water systems, various types of wall repair, carpentry skills, painting and decorating.
An understanding of service provision within local authorities.

The ability to listen and learn – fast
3 full days of 7 hours (+1/2 hr lunch) and 1 half day for Mentor/Coaching/Training every week.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
Mentoring and Coaching following a 6-month development plan.
One2One Performance sessions provided by the Manager every 1-2 weeks.
Weekly face to face and e-learning mentoring and coaching.
You will also undertake various courses that cover Induction, Employability, and personal skills.
There will be ongoing Branch department mentoring, coaching to develop you further, a 9-5 helpline, and a Kickstart Buddy.
