ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
All additional roles that the companies are looking to create as part of the Kickstart scheme will offer opportunities for young people who face barriers to employment and ensure they develop new knowledge and skills that set them up for success and prepare them for the future. New entry level positions have been established by these organisations to enhance confidence of young people and as a Gateway we will ensure Kickstart participants have mentors to support them throughout their placement, similarly to what they do with other entry level employees. We are committed to supporting young people during and after the scheme, to help them find employment with another the organisation should the opportunity not arise in the existing company. We have attached and developed our own training and mentoring pack that compliments the Kickstart program, this is an optional service to the organisation. This has been well received by the organisations we are working with.
The objective of this pack to help guide both the organisation and young person in gaining the most out of their Kickstart journey. On completion of the 6-month placement the young person is given their monthly Personal Development pack together with a Kickstart certificate that can accompany their CV when applying for new career opportunities.
