ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
Many businesses choose Wirral Chamber to facilitate full wraparound training and support for young people and this will commence with an induction at the beginning of their placement, explains all the important aspects of employment such as contracts, holidays, punctuality, workplace expectations, skill building and general excellence in the workplace. We will hold monthly sessions with our next session starting at the end of month one. It will cover effective communications, personal brand and emotional intelligence, detail how Kickstart placement can make a valued contribution to the workplace, and how their actions and behaviours can impact on others both positively and negatively. We then move on to a Money Matters session where we look at what young people spend their money on, where savings can be made and why and how money management is so important. Our next session centres on the health and wellbeing where we will look at mental health, resilience, confidence and motivation. This session includes details regarding the importance of a healthy diet. Session 4 focuses on CV building and goal setting, looking at work placement experience to date and how we can ensure these experiences are reflected in their CVs. We will then progress to interview masterclasses and how to sell yourself so that young people become confident in explaining their strengths and not be afraid to say what they are good at. The final session will focus on job searches and looking for long term employment. We will have senior Business Leaders joining the sessions to talk to the young people about the world of work, what they look for in employees and provide tips and hints.
