An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a Senior System Development and Patient Experience Manager to join our Professional and System Development Team in the South East.

Acting as a champion for patients and their interests and involving the public and patients in policy development, co design and decision-making of the NHS England/NHS Improvement; the post holder will work as part of a matrix approach to delivery; leading individuals to think and work outside of traditional organisational or professional silos to achieve better outcomes for patients and local populations using evidence based approaches that enable both improvement and transformation.

The post holder will also work in partnership with the Head of Patient Experience and Engagement to oversee compliance with 13Z and 14Q processes to support embedding patient and public involvement and co design within the all levels of decision-making, whilst ensuring that all public and patient contact is of the highest professional standard.

The successful candidate will be a health professional with demonstrable expertise in Patient Experience & Engagement.

You must have a thorough understanding of the background to, and aims of, current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement. You should also have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, individual provider, commissioning organisations and devolved ICS/STPs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience of multi-agency working.

Please be aware that from 12 October 2009 anyone who is included in the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) barred lists will commit the new offence if they engage, or seek or offer to engage, in the regulated activity from which they are barred.

Please note that the reason for the fixed term of your contract is to cover a vacancy resulting from a member of staff being on secondment.
