To join the Payroll Support Team in NHS Payroll Services
To Investigate and responding to enquiries from staff, Government Bodies, and financial institutions verbally, electronically and written.
Answers complex and simple written queries from Banks, Building Societies, Job Centres, Department of Work & Pensions, Child Support Agency, Solicitors Inland Revenue, Other NHS Authorities, and employees requiring the extraction of financial information from payroll records. Some of these enquiries relate to benefit fraud.
Answers routine telephone enquiries from employees and above institutions.
Extracts information for payroll staff and managers to assist in responding to more complex queries.
Frequently required to answer queries from irate or distressed employees, requiring tact, empathy, patience, and calming techniques, where there may be issues about non-payment, incorrect or late payments.
Frequently give advice to employees where English is not the first language.
Regularly relieves on Switchboard and reception, directing enquiries to correct departments and personnel.
