We are looking for a Cook to join us in our home in Axbridge. Shifts 8am - 4pm. Ideally you will work 30 hours per week but we are happy to consider alternatives.

As a Cook with Leonard Cheshire you will play a key role in the preparation of meals, special events and functions, providing a high-quality kitchen service in our residential care home. Working within the constraints of the budget, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the kitchen and formal supervision of kitchen staff, delivering nutritionally balanced, varied and attractively presented meals.

This role will be based at our St Michael's home in Axbridge. St Michael's is home to 36 adults with physical disabilities. We're in the peaceful village of Axbridge in Somerset, commutable from Cheddar and Weston-Super-Mare. The successful Cook will be:

Preparing a menu in line with the allocated budget
Prepare, cook and serve meals to service users
Document menus
You will:

Have experience working in a kitchen environment, ideally as a cook or a chef.
Have a recognised catering qualification (Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate and additional HACCP accreditation or Level 4 Food Hygiene Certificate, or commitment to work towards this).
