We are currently looking to recruit a HSE Managerto provide, maintain and communicate the health safety and environmental arrangements for the SIG Specialist Market businesses. This role will ensure that the business meets the requirements of Health and Safety Law and the ISO45001 Standards and promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture at all levels within the business, its contractors and customers.

What does the role involve?
As HSE Manager, you will work with the SIG UK businesses to meet the requirements of Health and Safety Law and the ISO Standards; ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety & ISO 14001 Environment Management systems. You will work with senior management within the related businesses to develop strategic plans and objectives and targets which meet the health safety and environmental needs of the businesses and conform to the strategy and objectives of the Group and UK’s health and safety programme and provide specialist expertise, advice and guidance to Senior management across each of the SIG UK businesses.
You will also be responsible for the monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of policies and strategies including coordinating reports and supporting the business in developing, measuring and reporting on KPIs.
The following skills and experience are required:
- HSE experience within a production /manufacturing environment is essential
- In-depth knowledge of EHS legislation, especially Coshh, DSEAR and PUWER.
- A nationally recognised health & safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma / Occupational Health and Safety NVQ5, or equivalent)
- Proven experience of devising HSE policy and management systems in either logistics, distribution, warehousing ormanufacturing sectors,with strong competence in RiskManagement, Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, Accident Investigations and Auditing.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work and plan your own time
- Proficiency in all MS Office packages
