Our award winning apprenticeship programme has been designed to get our customers on the career ladder! (How awesome is that!) Don’t be put off by the word apprentice as you can be any age to apply.

So, what’s so great about this apprenticeship? Well, your wage will be higher than the national apprenticeship minimum wage, so start planning what to spend that extra cash on! You’ll be employed for a 15-month period to get stacks of experience and launch your career! You’ll start at NVQ level 2 (equivalent to a GCSE) with a possible progression to level 3 (equivalent to A-levels) and many apprentices secure a permanent role with us! Who knows where future you will end up!

About the role

You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we’re not just a team we’re a “work family”. Our manager is Naomi, who’s recently returned to work at Home Group and has appointed a brilliant new support coordinator John to lead the service. The team are all passionate about supporting customers and working across the services in the city to get the best options for each individual at the service.

There are 5 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! You will be joining our graduate, qualified, Adult Care Worker Apprentice, Jess, who is now in permanent ‘complex needs support worker role’ in the team. Jess can support you as your take your first step into your Apprenticeship and working in supported accommodation! We are all keen to work with all the other amazing services available across Norwich, so you’ll get the chance to work with different colleagues and catch up over plenty of cuppa’s and cake! We put the person at the centre of all we do, and love to share the great outcomes our customers achieve.

Working Hours

As you develop your skills, and get to know us, our customers and the business, it’s really important that you are at work when your colleagues are around to support and guide you. This means that you will work between the hours of 9 and 5 Monday to Friday, the good news is that you will never be expected to work alone!

Who we’re looking for

You can apply for this apprenticeship if you are a current or former Home Group customer.

Ideally you will have good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and basic Microsoft Office Skills but before long you’ll be a real whizz! You be great at working with people as part of a team, but must be able to work independently and use your initiative. You’ll be keen to learn from others how to prioritise and manage your work load, but an eye for detail is important.
