We are offering a rewarding and challenging job opportunity within the Dietetic Services at North tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetic team at North tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust primarily covering the Easington area.

This post will provide patient centred care for the Home Enteral Tube Feeding (HETF) Service off FP10 throughout the locality. This is a specialist post delivering HETF to adults and children within the acute and community setting. The post-holder will provide expertise for the HETF patient, their carers and families.

Clinically responsible for patients who are enterally fed from point of discharge through to stabilisation in the community. You will participate in discharge planning of new HETF patients to ensure a patient focussed seamless service. The role involves home visits, clinics, telephone contacts and supporting patients who are tube fed at home when they are admitted to hospital.

As a specialist HETF Dietitian you will work as part of the dietetic HETF team and MDT to develop best, evidence based practice in this patient group and work with junior staff to develop their skills to manage the complex needs of these patients. As a clinical specialist dietitian for HETF you will be an active member of the acute and community teams; working to deliver, develop, evaluate and audit the service. You will work in partnership with feed company nurse advisors and PEG nurses. You will be an educator for health professionals/students involved in the care of HETF patients.

There is access to dietetic assistants and clerical and administrative staff and excellent IT facilities. The service is part of Out of Hospital Care Services which includes SLT, OT and Physio colleagues, making MDT working accessible. The department is involved in clinical pathways, audit, continuous professional development and student training. We participate in the clinical education of Placement A, B and C student dietitians and the post holder will be expected to play an active role in student training. Continuous professional development is actively supported.
