Cod Steaks is a design and construction company specialising in bespoke 3D solutions for retail & leisure, museum & heritage, public art, film & TV, PR & marketing. We produce everything from miniature sets and props for Wallace and Gromit, all the way up to large scale retail interiors for brand giants such as Harry Potter.

We're currently looking for an Admin Assistant to help with the day to day running of the office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic candidate to thrive in a stimulating creative environment.

You will gain extensive experience in administration whilst working closely alongside the General Manager and Financial Controller who will support you throughout your placement.

Working from our premises in Bristol, you will:

Handle in/outbound calls and take messages for other team members
Welcome clients, make tea/coffee & collect refreshments for working lunches
Take mail/packages in and distribute to the team
Wrap packages and book in couriers for collection
Book vehicles, flights, trains & accommodation for crew
Scan, photocopy, print & file documents away
Order general stationery & keep printers well stocked with ink
Research materials, place orders online/over the phone & raise purchase orders
Use MS Excel to update the Holiday Spreadsheet
Use MS Excel to update supplier database with contact details, prices etc

Must be:
Confident with MS Excel and Word
Organised with methodical and thorough approach to work
Excellent communicator with a good telephone manner
Conscientious and able to take instruction well

Must have:
Good standard of education to minimum GCSE Grade C or above
Positive ‘can do’ attitude, with friendly disposition

Would suit candidate with:
Previous office experience
Graduate in Arts or Business based studies
Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Cod Steaks is an incredibly supportive employer. We pride ourselves on having a friendly, professional working environment where everyone pitches in to help out.

You will be mentored on a one to one basis by our General Manager, but will also receive support from other colleagues who’ll guide you in the right direction. Each task will be clearly explained to you and you will be coached on how best to approach each process.

You will be shown how to answer the phones, write emails, update documents on the server, book transport/accommodation etc.

We offer an exciting working environment, where you will get to see a number of creative processes in action.

You will be given time to find your feet, with a review scheduled at Week 5 and again half way through your placement. During these review meetings, we will evaluate your performance in the tasks set and provide constructive feedback in any areas where your skills could be improved. These meetings will also provide an opportunity for you to discuss where additional support is required.

Whilst you will start with us at the minimum wage, your pay will be re-evaluated after 3 months. At this stage you will have been given every opportunity to prove your value to the company and in return Cod Steaks will be keen to reward this effort through an increase in pay.

During your final month, you are free to approach our HR Department for any advice on other job roles that you are considering. We will also do our best to steer you in the right direction for other suitable opportunities which may come to our attention. Our HR Department will be available to evaluate your CV and to work with you to revise this for increased employability.
