JOB PURPOSE

Elevate supports young people with complex mental health and challenging behaviour to access support and opportunities for recovery. Your role within the company will be to provide support to the vulnerable young people within our service with their day to day living by encouraging independence and recovery. A comprehensive training and induction program to support all staff with career progression and confidence within the role. This role is working in ‘regulated activity’ and therefore is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 Providing emotional support to clients and their families

2.2 Supporting clients with their hobbies and interests

2.3 Providing support in line with their support plan

2.4 Working as a team to support the learning of new skills or gaining employment in line with the company’s E-LAUNCH program

2.5 Understanding the communication needs of all clients and adapting your communication to the individual in order to provide person centered care

2.6 Supporting and monitoring their healthcare needs including prompting with medication and personal care

2.7 To comply with Elevate’s policies, procedures and Staff Handbook, in particular the Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Data Protection policies to protect the health and safety of yourself and others.

2.8 To understand the significance of and comply with your responsibility to safeguarding and promoting the safeguarding and welfare of the young people within our care.

2.9 To participate in regular team meetings as required.

2.10 Working with young people to implement support plans put in place.

2.11 To take reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others who may be affected by acts or omissions related to your work. Co-operate fully with the management of the Company with regard to any duty or requirement imposed on them by the relevant Health and Safety legislation to allow that duty or requirement to be carried out or complied with.

2.12 Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities considered appropriate by the management of the Company.

2.13 To facilitate the inclusion of young people into the community and be sensitive to issues surrounding discrimination and challenge any discriminating behaviour.

2.14 To keep up to date with any statutory and company training requirements.

2.15 To actively take part in supervisions and appraisals and being committed to personal development.

QUALIFICATIONS AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience working within the mental health sector and must have some experience working with vulnerable young people.

Candidates should at a minimum have NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health or Social Care or Children and Young People’s Workforce, the company will fund staff training if successful applicants do not have the qualification specified.
