Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team within Women services at CUH as Superintendent Sonographer for maternity services. In this role you will support the delivery of strong visible clinical leadership ensuring the highest standards of woman centred care are being maintained across the service

The Superintendent Sonographer for maternity is responsible for the day to day performance of the Rosie Ultrasound Scan Department including the leadership of Advanced Practitioner Sonographers, Midwife Sonographers and Trainee Sonographers.

You will be responsible for managing the Obstetric, EPAU and Fetal medicine ultrasound services including the day to day strategic and forward planning in line with the Divisional and Trust’s objectives.

You will also contribute to the operational running of the fetal medicine department working closely with the lead midwife and lead consultant for fetal medicine.

As the Superintendent Sonographer for maternity you will ensure the provision of a professionally competent, efficient and effective service, maintaining a high level of clinical expertise. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the senior MDT and participate in national drivers for safety and quality improvement such as v2 of the saving babies lives care bundle.
• The day to day performance of the Rosie Ultrasound Scan Department including the Advanced Practitioner Sonographers, Midwife Sonographers and Trainee Sonographers.
• To manage the Obstetric, Gynaecological, EPAU and Fetal medicine ultrasound services including the day to day strategic and forward planning in line with the Divisional and Trust’s objectives.
• To provide a professionally competent, efficient and effective service, maintaining a high level of clinical expertise.
• To participate in undergraduate and postgraduate training, including supervising, motivating and developing other staff as appropriate.
• To oversee the operational running of the fetal medicine department liaising closely with the specialist lead Midwife for fetal medicine and the fetal medicine lead consultant
• To contribute to the implementation and compliance with national drivers for safety and quality improvement .
