University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust

To work with designated teams within the Trust to support and obtain an understanding of the maintenance and repair functions within a hospital environment.

To work with the visitor experience team to support patients, visitors and staff accessing hospital sites.

This placement may include:

Supporting teams to undertake maintenance and repair work, of a day-to-day nature across Trust sites.

Assisting teams with routine planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown tasks.

Working with teams to carry out:
Minor carpentry and painting and decorating works
General gardening and grounds duties
Pest control works

Assisting other trades within the Estates department

Supporting teams to monitor and restrict unnecessary access to the hospital site in line with Trust policies.

Championing the COVID-zero campaign by encouraging social distancing, hand hygiene, and the use of masks
Providing assistance, directions and information to visitors

Attending team meetings as directed by the department

Undertake training and study days as deemed relevant to the role and the Kickstart Scheme
