To provide support to Historic Englands e-learning delivery, including the webinar programme, Learning Management System, e-learning resources and blended training programmes, as well as learning about our wider learning and development offer.
This opportunity would suit anyone with a desire to improve their IT skills and learn how digital technologies can support learning and development across the heritage sector. The placement role will include:
Supporting the E-Learning Instructional Designer to implement a new Learning Management System, helping to structure the system, develop system administration processes, train other staff members and manage day to day activity on the system.
Provide co-ordination of the HE Webinar programme, scheduling events, providing administration, managing technical run-throughs and learning to host.
Support the use of the Heritage Workspace Network on the Knowledge Hub communities of practice platform. Learn strategies for managing online communities of practice and support team members to manage the network and create engaging content.
Support the Heritage Apprenticeship Training Adviser to review the Historic Environment Advice Assistant (HEAA) Apprenticeship Training Programme, particularly revisions to, or development of new online training resources.
To work with our Web Content Team to suggest and deliver improvements to our training webpages.
To shadow other training team members to learn about the heritage sector, its skills needs and how training is provided for career entrants (e.g. with apprenticeships) through to later careers with continuing professional development training programmes.
Good knowledge of computer operating systems and digital learning systems. Training can be provided to you to suit the requirements of this role.
You should be adaptable and can find the best fit for your needs and can change your workflow to meet demands. You show an interest in new things and actively seek out new information.
Working across 4 days. Time and days are flexible and will be determined at interview

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
Historic England is procuring an external organisation to deliver the key Wrap Around Skills and Development Training for this scheme as set out by the DWP. This organisation will provide both face to face and e-learning modules that will complement the employees learning styles. The employees will also have access to a range of wellbeing support to aid them in achieving their placements at Historic England. This will be provided by both the external training provider and Historic Englands own development platform.
Employees will also have access to Historic Englands training platform (FUSE) where additional organisational H&S compliance related training can be accessed. This platform also provides additional training resources, wellbeing classes, exercises and forum groups aiding social interaction and personal development.
Post placement all employees will be signed up to the Good Youth Charter which forms part of the Youth Employment UK charity. This will provide young people further access to personal skills developments and careers advise.
