We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking Assistant Psychologists to join our well established and dynamic service for people, over the age of sixty five, who live in Kent & Medway.
The post holders will be a part of the Kent & Medway Older Adult Psychological Service and will join local Community Mental Health Services for Older People (CMHSOPs). The post holders will work within the dementia assessment service; they will administer neuropsychological assessments and contribute to the post diagnostic pathway, supporting people who have recently been diagnosed with dementia. The post holders will be managed and clinically supervised by a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
The role will include psychometric testing (as part of dementia diagnostic processes) as well as individual and group therapeutic work. There will also be opportunities to work with families and carers, colleagues from other professional backgrounds and external agencies, as well as opportunities to contribute to service evaluation and audit projects. All work will be supervised by a registered clinical psychologist. Regular clinical and management supervision will be provided and participation in a range of CPD activities, available within the care group, will be encouraged.
This position is a full time 6 month fixed term position with The Kent and Medway Older Person's Psychology team.
The post holders will be required to work full time, Monday to Friday to help deliver a psychology service in the community. Travelling efficiently between sites, attending meetings across Kent, undertaking home visits in a timely manner (subject to DDA) and at times working remotely are all essential parts of the role.
The post holder will join a supportive and vibrant psychological service for older people in Kent & Medway which includes clinical and counselling psychologists, drama, music and arts therapists and assistant psychologists.
