Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing support to people from the Jewish community, working with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that appropriate care is provided, adhering to the appropriate guidelines and regulations governing nursing, health and social care and care homes. Reporting directly to the care manager, the postholder will be responsible for keeping abreast with current best clinical practice to provide high standards of clinical and personal care, leading and motivating a team of care staff and liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Hours: 40.25 per week

Pay: £41,860 per annum

Location: HA7 3FT

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading an effective, motivated and committed team of care staff and ensuring that residents are provided with person-centred care that will meet their personal, physical, social and psychological needs in accordance with National Care Standards, GSCC Code of Conduct and organisational values
  • Maintaining responsibility for and contributing towards the preparation of care plans in consultation with residents, advocates and relatives to ensure relevance to each individual resident’s needs, monitoring updates and conducting reviews with the care team regularly
  • Monitoring resident’s conditions and recording observations
  • Being accountable for the safe-keeping, storage, administration, ordering, recording and handling of drugs in accordance with current legislation and NMC guidelines
  • Taking responsibility for keeping relevant records in accordance with professional, organisational and regulatory standards (e.g. CQC, Jewish Care, NMC) and ensuring others also keep appropriate records to agreed standards
  • Contributing to relevant learning, training and development opportunities for staff, and self
  • Ensuring proper and relevant assessment and induction of staff and residents into the home according to the GSCC Code of Conduct, organisational and National Standards
  • Promoting, monitoring and maintaining Health and Safety and security in the home and carrying out regular checks
  • Delegating, supporting and monitoring staff during the shift in carrying out their duties to agreed standard and ensuring that staff and self are alert and attentive to the needs of the residents throughout and that all calls and alarms are responded to promptly
  • Reporting to and alerting the Care Manager or Registered Manager of any incidents, significant occurrences or anything that may impact on the service or care provisions
  • Keeping abreast of Jewish Care’s policies and procedures as well as other professional and regulatory guidelines and standards and ensuring that they are followed at all ties
  • Contributing to the correct stock control and ensuring that consumables required for operations are available
  • Making informed clinical decisions based on own judgement according to NMC guidance and Jewish Care policies and procedures

Requirements

  • NMC Registration
  • Bachelors or Masters in nursing
  • Previous experience working in a care or clinical setting
  • Active practice of administration of medicine
  • Experience working with dementia patients (not essential)
  • Knowledge of customer care
