Isle of Wight Council

We would like someone to join our team as a host and first point of contact for our training sessions. Someone who would be able to meet and greet delegates and direct them appropriately and support trainers with the management of the session throughout.
As a host we would like the new team member to be able to recognise and deal accordingly with issues that our delegates may have when attending a course. This could mean pointing them in the right direction, explaining our fire and safety protocols or setting up ICT equipment.
The right candidate would also be there to support trainers if they need any assistance with ICT, location etc. This will primarily be focussed on virtual/online training, as this is where the majority of our courses take place at the moment. As such they would need to have a good knowledge of Microsoft Teams, or demonstrate that they are able to learn the system quickly (training will be provided via our digital Learning Hub).
This is an opportunity for someone to join a friendly and dynamic team that works with a wide range of people, both inside and outside of the council. L&D has a remit to support people through the learning process, and this would be a chance to share and learn in a friendly and supportive environment

Good Customer Service
An enabling, helpful, calm manner
MS Teams or good IT skills with the ability to learn MS Teams functionality
Full clean driving licence would be desirable rather than essential.

To be agreed with the applicant

The current situation has given all members of the team the chance to learn new skills and to use new technologies, something that we feel would greatly benefit someone who wants a career in admin/office-based work.
There will be a full support scheme available for applicants including employability, office skills, and general office behaviour as well as an introduction to local government. This will be an excellent opportunity to embrace new remote working practices likely to be continued in all sectors and roles in the future
A full learning programme accessible for all Kickstarters with the Isle of Wight Council which includes training on:
Employability skills
Basic level spreadsheet training
Administrative word processing skills
Mental Health and Wellbeing
An introduction to Local Government
GDPR and Data Protection
Equality and Diversity
Digital and remote working skills,
