JOB SUMMARY
What you’ll do at Saputo Dairy UK
Collect final product and in process samples to be delivered to the analytical lab for testing. Take water samples from various samples points for chemical and microbiological HACCP testing. Calibrate analytical equipment in several site process testing areas / satellite laboratories and to stock them with consumables. Support in storage organization of consumables and delivery of consumables to process testing areas (satellite laboratories) around the site. Test the output of the site Waste Water Treatment Plant. Subsample liquid and powder final products for testing.
Who’s right for the role?
A holder of a GCSE (Grade D/4) or Function Skill (Level 1) in English and Math’s at least. The ideal candidate will hold a qualification in a science-based subject but this is not essential. Someone who is able to use MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. The ideal candidate will definitely be able to follow Health & Safety and Food Safety instructions, have good communication skills, with the ability to communicate with Team Shift Managers, Production Operatives and Laboratory Analysts effectively. Someone who is able to complete tasking to a strict timeline. The successful candidate will need to be able to work without supervision and take responsibility for time keeping and to follow strict hygiene and health and safety requirements. The reach of the sample points across site is wide so the post holder will be walking for up to one third of their time on site. There will also be a requirement to get into and out of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) several times a day to collect the samples. Full training will be given. A driving license is desirable to use a road vehicle to visit the Waste Water Treatment Plant to collect samples although applications will still be considered if unable to carry out this part of the job role due to not having a licence.
Hours: The site operates 24/7. The contract is for 39 hours per week but the Rota is for an average for 42 hours per week, working 12 hr. shifts 3 on, 3 off covering weekends and Bank Holidays. This means there will
be guaranteed overtime paid for 3 hours per week. The start time is 7am and the shift ends at 7pm.

SKILLS NEEDED
Driving license is desirable but not essential. English and Maths GCSE (Grade D/4) or Functional Skills (Level 1). A qualification in a science based subject could be an advantage. Ability to use MS Office programmers would be an advantage.

WORKING HOURS
Starts at 7am and ends at 7pm. Contract is for 39 hrs./ week but Rota is for 42 hrs./ week, working 12 hr shifts.

HOURLY RATE
£10.06/hour

Saputo Dairy Induction: Onsite induction covering company overview, Health and Safety Level 2, Environmental Awareness, Food Hygiene Level 2. Where possible, other training in manual handling will also be provided.

On the job training to operate the Analytical Equipment Calibration located within satellite laboratories, to test the Waste Water Treatment Plant and subsampling of liquid and dried finished products.
