We are looking for an experienced Support Manager to oversee our opportunities service (day service) in Leeds that has a 30+ staffing team. The Opportunity service is designed to help people reach personal goals and try new activities. This approach, which takes advantage of regional activities, opportunities and resources, has resulted in a diverse project portfolio which aims to enrich the lives and support the independence of people with learning disabilities at all levels.

Our day service provides a flexible approach to support and whilst a lot or this happens within key working hours we always strive to meet individual’s needs and preferences, which can involve providing support during evenings and weekends. We require this flexible working approach from our Manager especially with the constraints the pandemic has caused, which sees some of this role working and supporting remotely.

It is essential for this role that you have experience supporting people with learning disabilities, ideally you will also have previous experience working in a day service.

Due to the nature of the position, being a driver with access to your own vehicle is essential.

About The Role

You will be responsible for directly line managing a team leader and a team of support workers, by providing regular supervisions, appraisals and inductions, you will also be required to complete quality and compliance within the services. This will include regular finance audits, updating the people supported plans and completing risk assessments. The ability to plan and prioritise your workload is essential.

Shifts Patterns

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours a week, 9-5 Monday to Friday with occasional hours outside these times to meet the needs of the service. The opportunities manager also covers on call on a rota basis
