Plus, Brilliant Benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home.

Come and join our brilliant Central Resource Team! We’re recruiting across Durham, Sunderland and Teesside. We’re looking for enthusiastic and caring Support Workers like you to join our team where we’ll provide support to services across region.

You’ll join our team which is led by Lindsay who has worked for Home Group since 2008 when she started as a volunteer here. Lindsay took full advantage of all the training and experience that the company has to offer to rise to her current position as Senior Client Service Manager.

You’ll be one of 8 support workers, who really can turn your hand to anything. This team has been developed to backfill annual leave for support workers in all of our supported accommodation and community-based services in our area.

We provide care and support to a wide range of customers, all with different levels of needs and abilities. This means that one day you could be working a late shift in one of our mental health services, supporting customers to learn the skills to live independently. You could then be on a day shift in one of our floating support services, supporting people with housing related issues.

It’s really important to us that you have time to do what you really care about; changing customer lives for the better. So to free up your time, you’ll be given the latest IT kit, which could include a Surface Pro tablet and smart phone, supported by our new online integrated IT system which means that you don’t have to be in the office as you can complete support plans on the go. You’ll also be paid between customer visits and for your mileage too.

About you

You’ll be flexible in your approach, adaptable and resilient, thrive working with all types of people and caring in your nature.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience delivering support to vulnerable people and have knowledge of safeguarding. We want someone like you, with the passion and motivation for helping vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives.

As the role requires us to respond to the needs of the services across the area, we do require you to be flexible and willing to travel at short notice, however as we are asking you to be flexible for us we aim to give you the time you need to do the things that matter to you! This means you’ll be working on a 5-week rota which allows you to see those really important rest days.

As this is a community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
