Summary

We are holding an Assessment Day on 26th September 2019, from 08:45am to 2:00pm and we would love to see you there! The assessment day will be held at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.

Now is the time to join our acute medical unit which is designed to streamline the admission process which has created a positive experience for our patients.

Acute Medical Unit

AMU is a 78 bedded unit specialising in caring for patients with a variety of acute medical conditions and occasionally surgical conditions. The unit is very fast paced and has a high patient turnover with a maximum stay of 72 hours. Despite the fast paced environment the team are very good at achieving their targets and following the pathway.

What we have achieved in last 12 months

In a recent Friends and Family Test we are proud that an impressive 94.62% stated they would recommend our care. We are extremely appreciative that we have such hardworking passionate nurses working on the unit who really care about the job they do.

We value our staff and support them to grow within the organisation by offering continual learning supported by our Practice Development Nurse who will assist with training.

We have also developed the AMU Living our Values Charter to improve patient’s care and service delivery and have also complied with the CQUIN programme (Dementia/VTE/AKI/Sepsis) and NICE guidelines.
