An exciting and new role opportunity has arisen within the Surgical, Anaesthetic and Cancer (SAC) Division for a Deputy Head of Nursing.

The role will work across sites with departments and wards at St Albans City, Watford General and Hemel Hempstead General Hospitals.

The Division has a large portfolio including General Surgery, Trauma &Orthopaedics, Critical Care, Theatres, Cancer and Specialist Surgery- inpatient and outpatients. Watford General Hospital is the acute site which incorporates emergency and elective surgery wards, ICU, Theatres as well as outpatients. St Albans City Hospital is the elective site whereby there are inpatient wards, day surgery unit and outpatients.

Other departments and specialities are also covered, including Ophthalmology, OMFS, ENT, Breast Services, Pre-Operative Assessment, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

This is a full time role and the post holder will participate in the Trust Senior Manager On call Rota.

This post is managerially and professionally responsible to the Head of Nursing and will form part of the Divisional Management triumvirate providing strong leadership to the workforce working collaboratively with the Divisional Director and Divisional Manager.

The post also forms part of the Senior Nursing team within the Division and will have key working relationships with the Lead Nurse for Cancer, Matrons, Theatre Managers, Governance team, Deputy Divisional Manager and Assistant Divisional Managers.
