Summary

We are looking to recruit, on secondment or fixed term contract, nurses, AHPs, laboratory, pharmacy, hospital administration and/or clinic experienced NHS colleagues, and those who have an aptitude for IT, to join the MY CARE Northern Devon Programme as Configuration Analysts. Or if you are a recent graduate with a computer science degree or have a similar technical aptitude please also apply.

We are ideally looking for a start date of no later than 31 August but could consider a September start for the right candidates. Full training will be given and you’ll gain a sought after Epic qualification alongside being part of something truly transformational!

Approval has now been granted for a shared patient record between Eastern Devon and Northern Devon as part of the continued partnership and proposed integration of NDHT and RD&E with a go-live date planned for Summer 2022. This is a fantastic investment to improve the care and services we provide for our patients and community. Improving the visibility of information between our teams will also help improve safety and quality through supporting our teams to work together and make decisions leading to better outcomes for our patients.

Working in one of the dedicated modules you'll liaise with a range of multi-disciplinary staff to design and configure the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) to reflect the agreed workflows. Our modules include: Inpatients, Order Entry, Pharmacy (including electronic prescribing, medicines administration and stock control), Anaesthetics/Theatres/Intensive Care, Maternity, Pathology, Outpatients, Emergency Department, Community care and multiple Patient Administration System (PAS).

If you are able to build effective relationships with fellow clinicians, have sound IT skills and excellent communication skills we would love to hear from you. This fast-paced role will require exceptional organisational and planning skills to ensure an effective and integrated EPR solution is delivered on time and to budget.

Having clinically trained staff is key to the success of the programme; therefore a keen interest in achieving improved patient pathways through the implementation of the Epic EPR system is beneficial.

As part of a team, you will be fully trained whilst in post and responsible for configuring the assigned module to meet new ‘best practice’ ways of working. Therefore, an understanding of that area’s working practices and processes from an Information system and IT, clinical, operational or administrative perspective would be ideal.

These positions are available from the end of July 2021 as secondments or fixed term contracts (until September 2022) with potential for a further extension and/or permanent employment thereafter.

This post will be offered at a band 6 or band 7 depending on experience.

Please note that training for this role is likely to take place in both the UK and the USA. It is therefore essential that you hold a current passport and are able to commit to travel abroad on dates set by the Trust and in line government travel restrictions/guidelines at the time.

The MY CARE Programme will only be delivered in Northern Devon Healthcare Trust successfully if we establish an enthusiastic, hard-working and dedicated Programme Implementation Team. As part of the team we need to employ staff from all areas of clinical practice, administrative and clerical, and corporate areas such as HR, Service Development and Information Management and Technology.
