The Collaborative Care Group, which encompasses General Surgery and Orthopaedics, are seeking enthusiastic, dynamic Registered General Nurses to join our highly skilled and dedicated teams at the University Hospital of North Tees and Hartlepool.

To be responsible for the provision of skilled nursing care within the multidisciplinary care team. There will be a requirement to supervise, on a day to day basis, qualified and newly qualified staff in achieving objectives.

Applicants should be committed to providing high quality nursing care. Full support and training is provided to enable applicants to progress and reach full potential. There is an extensive Orthopaedic competency based training package which would provide experience in trauma, elective joint replacement, spinal and Ortho-geriatric fragility fracture nursing. Experience would be gained from working alongside experienced ward nurses, Trauma Nurse Practitioners and Consultants on ward rounds and in clinics.

In addition, rotational posts between general Surgery and Orthopaedics are available on request to enable successful applicants to gain more experience. There are Level 1 areas in both General Surgery and Orthopaedics. In addition, Orthopaedics can offer experience in its fragility fracture ward.

Previous experience in the surgical / orthopaedic or peri operative environment is an advantage, although not essential.

At North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust our main priority is, and always be, to provide safe and high quality care to our patients every day; the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones.

We want our organisation to be the best place to work with the right staff, in the right roles, at the right time, to ensure we deliver exceptional patient care and experience.

We will support staff through providing an inclusive and supportive workplace with health and well-being initiatives, staff benefits and opportunities for personal and professional development. Staff recognition is very important to us; as well as performance reviews and appraisals, we recognise staff through Star and Team of the month, colleague recognition – a note of thanks, Managers Awards, Shining Stars and Service Awards.

We actively encourage staff involvement with staff networking events and staff survey
