Nature of the job role: To assist in a variety of tasks which will support the employer to live an independent personal and social life.
Personal duties: Washing, dressing, toileting and getting the employer out of bed.
Domestic duties: Preparing food and drinks and administering food.
Social Duties: Help with shopping and various days out etc. as well as hospital appointments. these will vary depending on employer’s needs.
Hours of work: 10am-2pm and 4:30pm-7:30pm Monday to Friday.
Qualifications: None specifically required, but NVQ 2 or higher in Adult Social Care would be beneficial.
Skills & Experience: Experience of administrating medication and able to deliver a high standard of care is important.
Full UK driving license is essential, as the use of employer’s car will be needed for appointments and days out etc. The employee will need to meet the insurance requirements for driving the car to considered for the post.
As the employer is a wheelchair user, using a hoist is part of the daily tasks, training will be provided if needed. Previous experience with the Moving and Handling of people would be beneficial.
