Summary




An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist SLT within the clinical area of speech sound impairment and hearing impairment to provide clinical support to children and young people across the Swansea Bay Health Board footprint. This post is offered on a permanent basis at 0.8wte. The post holder will provide second opinions to other SLTs, support children with Statements of Special Educational Needs, offer training to other professional groups as well as manage a complex clinical caseload. The post holder will implement the All Wales SSI pathway, and will be expected to have a good understanding of how children with a speech sound impairment and/or hearing impairment will be impacted by the ALN reform. This role is based in a variety of motivating and interesting settings, and covers a dynamic caseload of children and young people between 0-19 years. Working in partnership with our Local Authority colleagues is key to this role, and a confident level of leadership will be required to develop this relationship further.

This role will include the opportunity to contribute to service development, research and audit. You will have access to regular supervision, a supportive network of other SLTs and CPD activities.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
