We are really excited to advertise a Senior Clinical Practice Educator for Barnet Emergency department.

Barnet ED has approximately 360 to 400 attendances per day with a co-located children’s ED
and a UTC. We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Practice Educator who has teaching and training experience at a senior level. The post holder will be expected to deliver the Educational Strategy for all our ED staff across Children's ED, Adult ED. You will be supported by 2 Band 6 CPE’s who work across peadiatrics and adult ED.

Barnet Emergency Department is an active participant in the Joy in work Institute for Healthcare Improvement program (IHI). The successful candidate would be supporting the senior ED team with exciting Quality improvement programs. We are searching for an individual who is passionate, driven and motivated to manage and drive up our education program. We also offer training and support for the successful candidate with options of attending personal development courses such as a Master’s program, teaching qualifications such as the PGCert and IHI programs.

You must have extensive Emergency Department (ED), managerial experience and be working at least at band 6 level within an ED. You will be expected to manage our level 7 accredited Emergency Care courses. You will lead on recruitment; therefore experience using the recruitment program Trac would be desirable.

In order to be successful in this post, you will need to be an individual that is able to think outside of the box and be prepared to challenge the norm in order to ensure that a cutting edge education and training program is delivered and developed in the ED.

Key priorities for successful candidate in the next 12 months are:
• Lead, along with the band 6 CPE, on an education strategy for the nursing team to meet the needs of the client group
• Support the delivery and organisation of all necessary training for all levels, by a multitude of mediums
• Ensure that all staff are compliant with their statutory and mandatory training
• Lead on the current Emergency Care level 7 accredited ED courses
• Support the senior nursing team and matrons
• Line manage the band 6 CPE’s and support with their development.
