Salary: scale 1 point 1 £22,252 per annum pro rata (£4,326)
Contract: Fixed term until December 2022

Manor Gardens and Islington Food Poverty Alliance (IFPA) are looking for a committed and passionate individual to support the delivery and success of the work of IFPA, and our Food Poverty Action Plan 2019-2022.

This is a new role with the opportunity to have a real impact on the ways Islington is tackling food poverty, and support the development of partnership work and collaboration across the Borough.

You’ll get the opportunity to work with a wide variety of organisations and individuals across Islington, including local businesses, Islington Council and the public sector, the charity sector, grassroots organisations, and local residents themselves. You’ll also get the opportunity to be innovative and come up with ideas on how we can best achieve our aims, and choose to work on projects that interest you.

You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager who chairs the IFPA, and will support the delivery and development of this role. You do not need to have experience in delivering a similar role – but you’ll need to be someone with strong organisational skills and a real passion for tackling food poverty. We look forward to hearing from you.

About Manor Gardens Welfare Trust
Manor Gardens Welfare Trust is a charity with an excellent history of supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing since 1913. Our mission is to work with people and communities to take action and enable good health, resilience and opportunity.

Our organisation is made up of three areas: our health and wellbeing services, our Early Years services, and our buildings offer as a landlord and a local community centre. Our health and wellbeing services operate across London, with our main base in Islington. We offer a variety of services to people of all ages and all communities, with a particular focus on those that experience identified barriers and difficulties in accessing support and services. This includes but isn’t limited to those living with long-term physical or mental health conditions, refugee and migrant communities, survivors of or those experiencing abuse, those who are socially isolated, and others who for many reasons are experiencing poor health and wellbeing.

We work from the approach that wellbeing and good health means different things to different people, and address this through working alongside communities, and recruiting many of our staff from the communities we serve. We work creatively and with flexibility, and having a positive impact on those we work with is at the heart of all we do.
