This an exciting opportunity to join the Practice Development and Nurse Education team (NEd) on our regional Paediatric Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit and the addition of the new Paediatric retrieval service - PANDr. You will be involved in the support and development of the nursing care team. As an experienced Paediatric Critical Care nurse you will provide effective leadership and clinical skills as part of a team caring for children and their families

You will be an RN (Child) with a paediatric critical care level 3 (PCC L3) qualification, able to demonstrate skills in the development and training of nurses, health care assistants and employed trainees within our unit delivering evidence-based nursing care to patients up to PCC level 3

You will be involved in informal and formal teaching including skills, orientation of new staff, medical device and nursing updates. Teaching on the PCCL3 course will be required and is an opportunity to develop formal skills as a lecturer.

The post holder will, without supervision, be responsible for providing clinically based education and guidance on the delivery of safe and effective care, to nurses and unregistered care roles within the specialty. Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Facilitate the orientation, induction and continued supervision of new and existing registered and unregistered nursing and care staff less experienced or qualified than the post holder to achieve clinical competence associated with skills required in the allocated specialty.

Support the clinical shift manager to appropriately utilise the developing skills of individual team members. Demonstrate leadership ability.
