The Nuffield Health Derby Hospital is a modern, purpose-built hospital with 38 en-suite beds, three operating theatres, and together with a comprehensive range of outpatient services.

The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, MRI and CT.

The Role

As an experienced Mammographer you will be part of a team providing high-quality Mammography services working with a Siemens Mammomat Inspiration unit. Working as part of the diagnostic imaging team and referring clinicians, your job will be to deliver high-quality, patient-centred imaging services and support Breast one-stop clinics.

As a Mammographer you will also;

  • Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for Mammography within the department. Working with leading practitioners and experiencing new practices, equipment and facilities.

  • Assist with routine QA of Mammographic equipment.

  • Support one stop breast clinics and health screening.

  • Provide cover and support for other Mammographers.

  • Assist with departmental audits where required

  • Assist with stock control and the effective utilisation of resources.

The Person

To succeed as a Mammographer you will have;

  • High levels of technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately, with a great eye for detail.

  • A caring nature - to see each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy.

  • A BSC degree in diagnostic radiography or equivalent to meet the registration requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

  • A postgraduate qualification in Mammography.

  • Excellent communication and team working abilities.
