What you'll do

You'll own and manage all risk and compliance across a specific business venture, supporting a generative risk culture and displaying and enforcing the appropriate risk practices and behaviours.

You’ll also:

  • Deliver the assessment and implementation of a new risk framework and policy compliance or change, converting these into appropriate strategies and action plans
  • Manage the identification and assessment of material risks, and determine their position relative to agreed appetites
  • Partner with first and second line of defence risk teams as well as external suppliers, taking a collaborative and proportionate approach to identifying and mitigating risks
  • Partner with colleagues across the franchises and services to deliver key business and customer outcomes
  • Proactively identify and effectively manage conduct risk to deliver key business and customer outcomes
  • Act as secretariat when needed

The skills you'll need

You'll need a background in a risk management and controls environment and an understanding of how this impacts on our business and customers, as well as general project management experience, involving complex people, processes and technology issues. You’ll also be familiar with the Three Lines of Defence model, and be comfortable collaborating with senior stakeholders across the business and leading the development and delivery of remedial action plans where identified risks are considered out of appetite.

You’ll also need:

  • Strong knowledge of financial crime, fraud legislation and bank policy
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of working in a customer experience or customer design led thinking environment
  • To be an excellent communicator who is confident working with and influencing a range of senior stakeholders across the business
