This is your chance to be part of something brilliant at Home Group, where person centred support and positive behaviours work hand in hand. Your role will be to deliver excellent person-centred support to our 8 customers living at Healey Supported Living Service.

Healey Supported Living is a Service based in Batley, that provides 24 hours support to customers with Learning Disabilities and/or autism. Each customer has their own self-contained flat and access to a communal space, where customers enjoy socialising together and taking part in group activities. We have excellent links with the local community where customers access other services and activities. Each customer has a personalised support package that is agreed with Social Care. Some of the support we provide to our customers include, personal care and medication administration where required, supporting customers to access the community, attending health appointments and cooking meals.

In your role you will be lone working during the night and will be responsible for ensuring building and customer safety. You will be delivering support in line with a customer’s support plan, this will mainly be personal cares and medication in a morning and an evening. There may be times when you will be asked to complete general office and admin tasks as required.

Lydia is the Registered Manager. She has been working for Home Group for almost 10 years and has managed Healey Supported Living Service since June 2020. You will also be supported by Megan, our Client Service Manager, who deals with all things housing related and Sophie our full time Support Coordinator.

Working hours

You’ll work waking nights every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night starting at 20:45 and finishing at 08:15 on a rota basis between the hours of 8am to 9pm including bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

We help change our customer’s lives for the better. You’ll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. You’ll work with our Support Coordinators and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop independent living skills. Together we’ll make a difference!

There will be times when you will need to use a computer and smart phone to access training, emails and handovers, so confidence is an advantage however, training will be provided. As part of your role you will have access to a Surface Pro and your own work phone.

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have a passion for supporting others. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group! Having an NVQ Level 2 in health and social care is an advantage, however, don’t worry if you haven’t, Home Group will support you to complete your Care Certificate.

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
