We are currently seeking to recruit a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with an interest in high risk pregnancy and antenatal care to join the Women and Children’s Division at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
You will join a team of twelve Consultants providing services to the local population within Mansfield and Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood.
You will provide support and leadership for our antenatal service as well as further development of the high risk pregnancy service. The appointment will help to continue to provide excellent intrapartum care, support and training within the on call component of the post, meeting the requirements of CNST as well as the Ockenden report. There will be a gynaecology component to the on call requirement.
Candidates for the post must be registered with the GMC at the time of appointment and be on the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Register or within six months of acquiring CCT at time of interview.
The main responsibilities of the post will be to further develop and support the provision of excellent antenatal care, particularly in the high risk pregnancy setting. Expertise to complement the existing team of particular interest would be high risk antenatal care, fetal medicine and risk management/governance.
There will be an expectation that the you will contribute to a 1 in 12 on-call rota, designed to meet the requirement of 60 hours per week consultant presence on the Birthing Unit but additionally to help meet the recommendations for safe Obstetric care detailed within the Ockenden Report.
