We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Radiographer to join our existing team of experienced Radiographers working in the CT department at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. This is a fantastic opportunity for Radiographers of any experience wishing to develop a career in CT in an extremely busy acute setting.
The work is incredibly varied and interesting but can be challenging with often competing workloads.
We are a Major Trauma Centre for all penetrating and blunt chest & abdominal injuries and all complex vascular injuries within the Greater Manchester area.
The Manchester Royal Infirmary is also a tertiary referral centre and has a wide range of specialties on site allowing you to gain experience in an extensive range of CT examinations.
The department currently has 2 CT Scanners, a Philips 128 Ingenuity and a GE Optima 660. You will receive full training on both these Scanners. In addition the CT Service also runs lists on the CT scanner at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Siemens Definition AS+ CT Scanner, each afternoon and full training will be provided for this.
The build for the upgrade of the Emergency Department is starting imminently. As part of the upgrade the Radiology Department is installing a Siemens Somatom Drive within the Resus department.
This role involves providing a first class imaging service to all our service users. You will be required to act on your own initiative, using a wide range of professional skills, whilst performing both routine and complex procedures.
We currently work 12 hour days over an 8 week rota period, typically this would involve 2 weekend duties in the current format. The nights are covered by CT Trauma Radiographers and therefore you will not be usually expected to cover nights except in cases of short term illness or unprecedented situations.
You are encouraged to call prior to application or interview to speak to myself or any of the staff to gain an insight into the role.
This is a full time position.
